ECI invites people in California who have an interest in
learning about other cultures to host an international student. ECI does not provide homestays but can refer you to approved homestay organizations registered with the California Attorney General's Office. To find an organization in your area visit California Attorney Generals website
WHAT A HOST FAMILY PROVIDES
Host families are expected to provide:
- a clean, safe, and friendly home environment
- a separate room or a bed in a room shared with a child of the same gender and approximate age
- opportunities to practice English and participate in family activities
- meals
