SUMMER & WINTER F-1 VISA & B (Tourist) VISA PROGRAMS

Academic Preparation: This program is for the serious student between the ages of 14 and 18 who wants to quickly improve his/her English. ECI issues the I-20 for this F-1 visa program,  See flyer.   ECI also provides a letter of conditional acceptance from a U.S. public high school or a college preparatory high school.  During this 9-week program, students have 27.5 hours of instruction per week.   Students will have several tours of academic public and private high schools, and college campuses in California. At the end of summer students transfer into an accepting high school (public or private) without having to apply for a new visa and without leaving the U.S., or they can return home. Students stay at the dormitory of Monterey Bay Academy with an American or other international student roommate. There are off-campus activities every Saturday and Sunday. For a detailed description of activities see:  SIP & APP Calendar.   (Apply Now)

Summer Intensive Program: is for serious students who want to focus on improving their reading, writing, speaking, and TOEFL score.  Students that are currently in the United States, or that want to attend on a B visa,  can join this program.   Students have 17.5 hours of classroom instruction per week, along with afternoon activities. Participants reside in the school dormitories or with a host family while they attend classes.  On the weekends students participate in all-day trips to San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel, Stanford University, U.C. Berkeley, Yosemite National Park, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, to name just a few.  See daily summer schedule and calendar.

While the summer program is "open enrollment," most students choose to enter the full 9-week program or enter at the mid-point. Preference is given to students attending the full program.

American Culture and English Conversation Camp & Contract Programs:  ECI offers programs in Northern and Southern California in both summer (summer flyer) and winter (winter flyer).  Summer programs take place on Monterey Bay in Northern California, while winter programs take place in San Diego, California.  Learn about American culture from American teenagers who want to share their culture and learn about your culture. American teens will escort students on weekend activities and afternoon off-campus activities. Class time each day teaches students about the many places we will visit during their stay and provides them with the tools to communicate with American teenagers. Students can come to this program as individuals or as part of a school or organization. ECI can also customize this program for schools and organizations. For detailed descriptions and calendar, see:  English Camp Calendar.  (Apply Now)

Summer On-Line Classes: For students needing to make-up courses so they can graduate on time, ECI offers our on-line program with support.  (See flyer)  Students stay at Monterey Bay Academy and meet with certificated teachers that help them set a schedule to complete the classes in a timely manner, reviews and monitors their assignments and helps them prepare for their exams.

ANNUAL F-1 VISA PROGRAMS

Public High School (F-1 Visa):  There are a small number of public schools in California that have agreed to accept ECI students if ECI provides sponsorship and guardianship for the students. While the F-1 Visa Public School Program is for one year, students may continue their studies by transferring to another school. Students are allowed to stay in the United States as long as they are a full-time student in good standing.  Public Schools F-1 Visa Program.

Private School Program (F-1 Visa): (See Flyer) ECI works with private schools in Northern and Southern California.  ECI is continually adding to our list of private dormitory and day schools that will accept ECI students if ECI provides guardian and sponsorship services.  While all of the ECI associated high schools are college preparatory high schools, they accept students at different English proficiency levels.  Some provide ESL services, while other do not.  To view a list of our associated private high schools go to:   Private Schools (F-1 visa)
